Memory’s Violence

Another’s pain creates the cloud of our brain.
The violence we have paid it cannot be undone.
We speak without thinking and strike without pause,
And the result is an envelope squeezing our thoughts.

But memory’s violence is there for a reason,
Preventing injury in every human soul.
Why would we forget what evil has taken,
Or forgive before hating for a period of healing?

Catharsis can be our teacher when we are strong in our mind,
But never go too far or act on rage’s passion.
Hate should never be an action or outside of a thought.
Never mistake the lessons that memory’s violence has taught.

Remorse is the enemy of the foe in your mind,
So let your rampage run wild, finding resolve.
But keep rage in your thoughts, never losing your goal,
Or you’ll wish memory’s violence was never in control.
